Gateweave Studios — AI Commercial Production Company, United Kingdom

Gateweave

About

A studio built for what commercial production looks like now.

Gateweave was built on one premise: that the commercial production pipeline is broken, and that AI had finally made it possible to fix it from the inside.

We'd watched brands spend six-figure budgets on work that felt safe, and seen small brands produce nothing because they thought they couldn't afford anything good. Neither situation made sense, and the tools had already arrived to change it. What was missing was a studio willing to use them with the same rigour and creative discipline that the best traditional production companies brought to the work.

So we built Gateweave as an end-to-end studio, a single team that takes a project from brief through to final delivery without handoffs. Creative direction, production design, and post all under one roof, with AI running through every stage of the process.

The work looks the way it does because of the decisions we make: what to keep, what to reject, when something is technically functional but aesthetically wrong.

What we believe

Craft over automation

AI is a tool in the hands of people who know what they're doing. A director working on a film doesn't think of the camera as the author of the work; it's the instrument through which a vision gets made. We use generative tools in the same way.

The brief is everything

A clear brief is the most valuable thing we produce together. Every frame of the finished work traces back to a decision made at the start of the project, and we treat that brief as the document that governs everything, including what we push back on.

Small on purpose

We don't intend to become a large agency. Small means the same people who pitch the work make the work. You always know who's responsible for the frame.

Honest about AI

We don't describe our work as 'AI-assisted' to soften it. We use AI deeply, throughout the whole pipeline. What we don't do is let the generation process make the creative decisions: what to keep, what to reject, and what the work is actually trying to say are always determined by people.

Work with us

We take on a small number of projects at a time. If you're thinking about what AI production could do for your brand, the best first step is a conversation.
